Working with Heather helped Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival not only to identify potential business partners and to develop proposals, but also to understand the value of what we had to offer. In the past two years, income through private sponsorship increased from 9% of our overall turnover to 25%, and we couldn’t have done that without working with Heather and without the confidence she gave us to think big. She was fantastic to work with – I would recommend her, and frequently have!

Heather has set Rowan Alba on track with a straightforward, easy to understand fund raising strategy that she developed by taking the time to get to know us. I was impressed by “going the extra mile” for us, and her in depth understanding of how smaller charities (like us) don’t have unlimited resources to fund raise.
Helen Carlin, Chief Executive, Rowan Alba
Thank you so much for your presentation on successful grant proposals at the Social Enterprise in East Lothian Network meeting. It was interesting, jargon free, fun and exceeded our expectations. It was particularly helpful that you researched the individual needs and challenges that our members face prior to the talk which made it much more relevant. I’ve had lots of positive feedback and have heard that you have been really helpful with advice since the meeting.
Elaine Gale, Network Development Officer, Social Enterprise East Lothian, January 2014
Heather worked closely with Lennoxlove Book Festival to understand our profile, and then to source and introduce new sponsors and funders to our organisation. She was great to work with and due to her hard work, the festival has benefitted from new sponsor and funder relationships, some of which are already signed up and some of which are good propositions for the future.
Rebecca Salt, Director, Lennoxlove Book Festival, May 2013
Heather very quickly understood what we had to offer but also some of the restrictions we were facing and provided me with a clear steer on how to explain and market our key skills and expertise. Her knowledge of the sector in Scotland is excellent and that along with her personal style and advice made it a real pleasure to work with her.
Aileen Ponton, Chief Executive, SCQF Partnership, April 2013
Heather worked with us on staff fundraising training and to develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy. She was very professional in her approach and very quickly recognised the needs of our project and that of our members. Heather was a pleasure to work with and we are very much looking forward to future collaborative work.
Neil Logan, Scottish Director, Working on Wheels (National Playbus Association) February 2012
Heather fulfilled our brief perfectly, worked independently to meet our schedule and was a great ambassador for our project. I would have no hesitation in recommending her for any kind of fundraising work.
Jane Alexander, Scottish Poetry Library, September 2010
The trustees of Little Sparta hired Heather to help relaunch the membership scheme and to assist with applications for grant funding. It was a pleasure to work with her; she has a constructive and practical approach. We relaunched in June 2009 and recently were awarded a significant grant from a charitable trust.
